Thursday October 24th, 2019 was a day of study and fun for our children of Don Bosco Primary School Namugongo due to the study tour organised by the school administration.
Our first stop was Hotloaf bakery where we arrived at 10:15 am. There the children learnt how bread and cakes are made. After seeing that, the children’s smiles were seen again after everyone was surprised by a loaf of bread for “nyamu nyamu”. Towards 12:30 pm we reached the Uganda Museum. This was our second stop. Since it was already approaching 1pm, we had our lunch in the beautiful premises of the Uganda Museum which we visited immediately after having something in the stomach. Visiting the Uganda Museum was also another good moment for the children because it reminded them of the history of their country and cultures. From there, the children were separated into two groups: upper primary (P5 – P7) and lower primary (Nursery – P4). Those in upper primary were taken to MUARIK – Makerere University Agriculture Research Institute Kabanyolo for a scientific study, and the ones of lower primary went to Freedom City for fun. By 7 pm, the first group was already at school and the second group, the one which had gone to Freedom City, disturbed by traffic jam, reached school at around 9:30 pm. We thank God who guided and protected us that day.
