Jesus Christ Moving through the Community
Yesterday the 18th of June, the Holy Catholic Church celebrated the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. The Holy Eucharist at Don Bosco CALM began with an exquisite entrance chant led by the eloquent voices of Makerere College School choristers who sang to the beat of drums, piano and guitar. The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Elie Nyandwi who preached about the Body and Blood of Jesus; his reflection involved a joint participation with the congregation, he asked different questions concerning food and animals which were answered by the pupils of Don Bosco Primary School and Makerere College School Students. The Celebrant emphasized the relevance of food to animals; if animals don’t eat, they perish. Therefore if man fails to eat the Body of Jesus, his Spirit dies and misses eternal life that the Body and Blood of Jesus offer.

The lively Holy Eucharistic celebration was followed by a procession with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament from the Church to Salesian house, the Children’s dormitory and finally to House Three, a shelter that houses visitors. The congregation walked with Jesus to these three destinations presenting to Him different intentions. In the special prayer requests, the children prayed for Salesian community of CALM at the first station; at the second stage they prayed for the children and at the final destination they prayed for the benefactors.
Finally the celebration was concluded with the Litany and a Special blessing from Jesus. We continued to pray that our hearts long for the Body and Blood of Jesus.
