From the 5th to 10th/09/2016, a big number of youths from the four salesian communities of Uganda gathered at St. Joseph VTC /Kamuli salesian community; to participate in the youth forum that had been organized with a theme “Keep Calm! It’s A Holy Blast.” Different educative activities covered up the five days of the youths’ presence in kamuli and these included: Adoration of the holy sacrament, Eucharistic cerebration, the penitential service as well as the sacrament of reconciliation. Different sessions were also held and these include: a session on the media; on racism/tribalism; on vocation and salesian prayer; on pornography and finally on sexuality.
In the unity with the multitude of the youth that gathered around the holy Father, Pope Francis in Poland, to celebrate the world youth day, the Salesian youth ministry in Uganda headed by Rev. Fr. Philip, organized for the gathering of the youth from the Salesian communities of Kamuli, Namugongo and Bombo, in which over 350 participants turned up.
The 30th/08/2016 was an amazing day at Don Bosco primary school as the pupils arrived at the eagerly awaited date; the day of receiving the results of their efforts invented in studies, as they came to the end of second term.However, even though, there was jumping, laughter, shaking of hands and all other signs one can use to express his joy, some expressions of sadness were witnessed, as the pupils were worried of missing their beloved teachers for quite a long time that is till the 26th/09/2016 (beginning of third term).
It was on Saturday the 27th/08/2016, that the Salesian community of Don Bosco Namugongo CALM organized a colorful and fantastic party, to extend its gratitude to Rev. Fr. John Mary Mushibwe for the wonderful services he has been rendering to the community for a period of six years, and at the same time saying bye to him, as he looks forward to attend to his new appointment in Bujumbura-Burundi.
