Provincial in Namugongo
We are privileged with the presence of Fr. Camiel the provincial of the AGL Vice province who arrived in this community on Monday night at around 7:30 pm .the main reason of his coming ,is to carry out his first pastoral visit in the Salesian communities in Uganda and he has begun with our community of Namugongo .Yesterday he had a small sharing with the four confreres together ,after which he also had personal sharing with each and every confrere then he visited the projects erected in the community .
This morning he had Holy mass with pupils of Don Bosco primary school. In his homily he based on the responsorial psalm which talked about the greatness and wonderfulness of the deeds of the lord .Provincial told the congregation to prepare their heart during this time of Advent so as Christ is soon being amidst us we may receive him with pure heart .He added that Christ’s birth is not like any other‘s because his was divine and Christ being our savior should welcome him so that he can be born in our heart to be saved ,then he talked about the last Sunday’s gospel where one of the two men who were crucified with Jesus said “Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom” He urged the Christians not to be like other one who asked Jesus to save himself from the cross if he was really the son of God . Fr .said that if we want to get blessings we should accept to be humble and simple in heart. After the mass he left for Kamuli community.
