Br. Hubert Twagirayezu, sdb, and Economer of CALM shaving boys
At CALM Hygiene is targeted as one of the goals the organization has to achieve progressively. Children are taught to care for and respect the environment as well as they clean themselves. Being at the service of the vulnerable children at CALM, Salesians strive to offer them safe and conducive conditions for their holistic growth. Don Bosco highlights this through the three main pillars for educating the young diligently and successfully.
Those three pillars are: Reason, Religion and Loving kindness. This loving kindness is not the matter of telling the child that he/she is loved. But it is the process through which the child realizes himself that he is loved. Jesus himself taught us to wash one another’s feet in order to become great. At CALM, Salesians wash not only the children’s feet, but also cut their hair systematically and smartly. “Wow! It is great to be cut hair by Br Hubert; he cuts smoothly and gently”. Say some boys waiting for their turn to be cut hair by him.
