From the 5th to 10th/09/2016, a big number of youths from the four salesian communities of Uganda gathered at St. Joseph VTC /Kamuli salesian community; to participate in the youth forum that had been organized with a theme “Keep Calm! It’s A Holy Blast.” Different educative activities covered up the five days of the youths’ presence in kamuli and these included: Adoration of the holy sacrament, Eucharistic cerebration, the penitential service as well as the sacrament of reconciliation. Different sessions were also held and these include: a session on the media; on racism/tribalism; on vocation and salesian prayer; on pornography and finally on sexuality.
There were games on a daily basis in which different communities could meet in different disciplines according to the fixture that had been made. Participants also participated in communal charitable work and that was cleaning of kamuli town. It was also an occasion for the participants to expose their talents during the daily time for entertainment; and these can be categorized under: acrobatics, miming, modern dance, drama, comedy, live music, and fashion show –which included also the choosing of miss Don Bosco 2016.
Namugongo community had over 65 participants, above 115 came on behalf of Bombo community, 7 members were from Gulu community and over 400 participants from kamuli.
May the good Lord help all the participants to put into practice all that they have learnt from the forum and may HE bless Fr. Philip, Fr. Elie and Fr. Vital who were the chief Organizers.
