Every year, Don Bosco CALM Namugongo has a surprise. This year 2016 we had a pleasant surprise. God sent us twenty five (25) new boys, all poor and vulnerable. All are in Primary level which means that we don’t have any boy in Secondary level. The youngest of the new boys is 5 years of age. Five boys are Primary one; three boys are in Primary two, three boys are in Primary three, twelve boys in Primary four and lastly two boys in Primary six.
These 25 new boys hail from different regions of Uganda, Eastern Region, Western Region, Northern Region and Central part of Uganda. It is quite interesting to note, because hailing from different regions with different dialects, and some from deep remote villages, they have difficulty in communicating, thus making use of sign language for communication. They can hardly construct a sentence in English. Now that they have been rescued and are now in our safe hands, in due time they will learn and communication will be made easy for them.
All the new boys were taken to Nsambya hospital for medical check of HIV/AIDS. Just one boy among the twenty five is positive. For the others, their health in general is good and we are grateful to the Lord for this.
We are grateful to god for sending us these twenty five boys as a new years’ gift. We continue to rely in Divine Providence, knowing that benefactors will come forward to help our god*given children. May we transform their lives, from being vulnerable, to be honest citizens and good Christians. God bless our benefactors.
