Approximately two weeks ago, we saw people demolishing the old piggery which at that moment contained no pigs, then we asked father Jean Marie, “Father what’s happening, you want to remove the piggery”, “no, I don’t want to remove it, I just want to modernize it”, he answered. Then we were very happy that our piggery was to remain in place and this time even in the process of being improved and modernized. Up to now, our piggery has 3 pigs, with one that has delivered 8 small pigs (piglets). Our dream is to have one day 200 pigs in order to feed well our young children of Don Bosco CALM
.
As I said, two weeks ago the work began with the cleaning of the place, removing the wastes which were there and the demolition of the old walls which were in wood, in order to build cemented ones, Then the construction immediately started and is still going on. This piggery is located on our farm next to the old one where we already have pigs. It is divided in seven chambers, three on one side and the four on the opposite side with a corridor in the middle. Each chamber has got a place where to feed the pigs and seeing the progress of the work, plumbers have begun to install water pipes so that water could easily be accessed in the piggery both for cleaning of the place and drinking for the pigs. As I write now, it is plastering work that is being done for walls and the floor and water installations so that the work is accomplished. It is really promising and we pray that this project may succeed according to the plan put up by the community so that one day the boys can eat pork almost every day, every week, that’s the prayer of Fr Elie.
Thanks to the administrators who are initiating this project and hope it will give abundant fruits. We look forward to having benefactors to contribute to achieve successfully our dream of modernizing quantitatively and qualitatively our piggery
