Modo25, a Leeds-based digital marketing agency, and the creators behind the AI-driven platform ASK BOSCO®, have announced the addition of David Hart as a new board member. David, a seasoned entrepreneur and SaaS product founder, brings over 15 years of industry experience to the growing agency.

With a rich background as a former digital agency owner and multiple SaaS founder, David’s appointment strengthens Modo25’s strategic leadership, as the agency continues to drive marketing technology innovation.

David Hart’s Entrepreneurial Journey

David co-founded the digital agency Codegent in 2004, which later merged with Thin Martian and was sold to Konekt Group. His entrepreneurial prowess extends beyond this, having successfully launched and exited four side projects—demonstrating his ability to turn innovative ideas into thriving businesses.

David also co-founded ScreenCloud, a SaaS digital signage company with a nine-figure annual recurring revenue (ARR) and a global footprint, with offices in the USA, Europe, and Asia. Following his relocation to California to lead ScreenCloud’s US operations, David transitioned out of daily operations to focus on helping agencies develop their own SaaS products.

Currently, David serves as a Non-Executive Director (NED) for four SaaS companies and is the author of Productized: Stop Selling Time & Transition to Selling SaaS. He also shares his extensive knowledge through a popular weekly newsletter.

Strategic Expertise to Propel Modo25 and ASK BOSCO®

In his new role on the board, David will work alongside Modo25 CEO John Readman and COO Abi Liddle, providing governance, strategic direction, and support to the company. His expertise in scaling SaaS companies and building digital-first businesses will be a key asset as Modo25 expands its offerings, particularly with the continued development of ASK BOSCO®.

Modo25 is the driving force behind ASK BOSCO®, an AI-powered reporting and forecasting platform designed to optimise digital marketing spend. The platform leverages machine learning to help retailers and businesses assess the performance of their paid and organic channels in comparison to their competitors.

David expressed his excitement about the new role: “I’m excited to join Modo25 at such a dynamic time for the business. The agency has built something truly special with ASK BOSCO®, and I see significant opportunities for growth in both the digital marketing and MarTech space. I look forward to working with John, Abi, and the wider board to support Modo25’s continued innovation and expansion.”

The Future of Modo25 and ASK BOSCO®

John Readman, CEO of Modo25, also shared his thoughts on the new appointment: “David’s experience in the SaaS industry, combined with his entrepreneurial mindset, will be invaluable as we continue to expand and develop innovative solutions, particularly with our ASK BOSCO® platform.”

Modo25, known for its expertise in marketing technology and supported in-housing, counts leading brands like SGS Engineering, Everything Managed Group, Pavers Shoes, and Great Rail Journeys among its clients. The agency’s forward-thinking approach and strong leadership team position it for continued success, with David Hart’s involvement marking an exciting new chapter.

Stay tuned as Modo25 and ASK BOSCO® continue to evolve and redefine digital marketing technology.

Last week, our CEO and founder John Readman joined Dominic Monkhouse for a chat about all things marketing, AI, cycling, and building a successful and happy workplace. Dominic is a seasoned business coach and CEO mentor.  His top 100 podcast, Mind Your F**king Business, invites experienced business people to share their wisdom with a global audience of over 11,000 top business leaders.

Podcast Highlights:

For the full podcast, please check out the video below. In the meantime, we have summarised the podcast highlights below.

John’s Journey from Business Strategy to Charity Adventures:

John talked about his journey not just into the realm of marketing AI with ASK BOSCO® and Modo25 but also as an advocate for philanthropy through his charity cycling business, Ride25. The concept behind Ride25 is to cycle from London to Sydney in 25 stages over 25 years to raise funds for an orphanage in Uganda. This idea, initially suggested by a friend as an alternative to traditional stag activities, has evolved into a journey of endurance and generosity.

John also shared one of the most profound impacts of Ride25, which is the effect it’s had on the children of the Ugandan orphanage. The funds raised have not only improved their living conditions but also inspired some to pursue cycling professionally. These efforts have led to some of the Ugandan children to represent their country in the UCI World Championships, a testament to how a well-executed charity event could foster dreams and change lives.

Modo25 and ASK BOSCO®: Navigating In-House Marketing Challenges

John talked about his venture into AI-driven marketing solutions, which stemmed from a common struggle among companies: maintaining effective in-house marketing strategies. To address this, he developed Modo25, (an agency that specialises in helping businesses in-house their digital marketing)  and ASK BOSCO® – advance AI reporting and budget planning software that helps businesses reduce online ad spend and make more money.  He talked about how he created two specialized teams of seasoned professionals and reconnected with former colleagues, include a leading data scientist to help build the software.

Revolutionizing Marketing with AI

John explained how the AI software ASK BOSCO® has simplified the complex landscape of digital marketing, helping businesses optimize their advertizing spend across various platforms. This technology not only predicts the most effective strategies but also enhances revenue while reducing costs. Such advancements have underscored the transformative power of AI in modern marketing.

The Four-Day Work Week: Boosting Productivity and Morale

John also talked about his support for progressive workplace policies, such as the four-day working week. He believes that a positive workplace culture leads to increased productivity and low employee turnover. His approach to creating a high-performing company environment is rooted in fostering a sense of community and well-being among employees.

Building Positive Workplace Relationships

In an age dominated by technology, John emphasized the importance of personal connections. He encouraged face-to-face interactions and nurturing a positive workplace environment as crucial for both personal and professional growth. He stated that this philosophy not only enhances team dynamics but also drives overall company success.

Influences and Inspirations: Books and Personal Ethos

John gave some of his top tips for inspiration from influential figures, including Zig Ziggler and Kevin Sinfield. He highly recommended ‘The Extra Mile’ by Sinfield and ‘The Multipliers’ by Liz Wiseman for their insights into leadership and personal development. He also stressed the importance of punctuality and attention to detail, viewing these traits as indicators of a strong work ethic.

John said that he measured his own success by the positive impact he could make on others. Whether it was transforming the lives of children in Uganda or providing a better start for his family, his goal was to help others succeed and make a meaningful difference in the world.

The Reality of Building AI Platforms

To finish, John talked about the significant investment of time, money, and effort required to build advanced AI platforms such as ASK BOSCO®. He was keen to debunk the myth of easy success in business, emphasizing that real achievement is the result of hard work and perseverance.

In the ever-evolving landscape of e-commerce and digital marketing, staying ahead of the curve is essential for success. Visualsoft, a prominent e-commerce specialist and platform, has taken a further step towards achieving this goal by partnering with ASK BOSCO®, our innovative marketing AI platform.

The ASK BOSCO® AI Marketing Platform was built for brands, marketing agencies, and e-commerce businesses to maximise their ROI while minimising the costs associated with advertising on platforms like Google and Facebook. The secret behind ASK BOSCO®’s success lies in its complex AI and machine learning algorithms, which are dedicated to reducing media expenses and, in turn, boosting sales.

Visualsoft’s Strategic Move

Recognizing the immense potential of ASK BOSCO, Visualsoft has chosen to integrate the platform into its arsenal of marketing tools. This move highlights Visualsoft’s commitment to staying at the forefront of marketing technology for the benefit of its clients. Ian Hyde, Head of Digital Performance at Visualsoft, is excited about the collaboration, stating,

“We’re excited to collaborate with ASK BOSCO® and integrate their cutting-edge AI platform into our ecosystem. By streamlining automated reporting and providing actionable insights, we are empowering our clients to make data-driven decisions that will propel their success.

This partnership demonstrates our dedication to staying at the forefront of marketing technology for the benefit of our clients. ASK BOSCO® surpasses anything else we have trialled so far in the marketing optimisation space and we are keen to get it rolled out across the business.”

The Power of Data-Driven Marketing

One of the key outcomes of this partnership will be the onboarding of Visualsoft’s clients onto the ASK BOSCO® platform on a monthly basis. This means that Visualsoft’s clients will have access to automated marketing reporting, enabling them to develop data-driven strategies aimed at boosting revenue.

The partnership promises to offer Visualsoft’s clients a “comprehensive understanding” of their marketing performance. This includes benchmarking against competitors, which is a valuable insight in today’s competitive e-commerce landscape. Armed with this knowledge, businesses can optimise their marketing strategies and stay one step ahead.

Emily Hakner, Director of Product at ASK BOSCO®, emphasizes the importance of this partnership, stating,

“Teaming up with Visualsoft exemplifies our commitment to nurturing relationships with industry leaders who strive for excellence and embrace innovative marketing solutions.”

Efficiency and Excellence

Our vision at ASK BOSCO® extends beyond just enhancing client performance. It also aims to make agencies like Visualsoft more efficient and effective, freeing up valuable time that can be dedicated to refining client strategies and delivering excellent service. In a fast-paced digital world, efficiency and excellence are key differentiators, and ASK BOSCO’s technology promises to provide just that.

We are very excited about the partnership between ASK BOSCO® and Visualsoft.  By harnessing the power of AI and data-driven insights, Visualsoft’s clients can look forward to more efficient marketing strategies, better performance, and a competitive edge in the industry. Last week, we launched our new SaaS platform, BOSCO™, with a webinar entitled ‘Are you spending too much money with Google?’ Watch the full webinar below.

In a fiercely competitive online landscape and now with the global pandemic changing consumer habits online, it can be difficult to know where to ‘gamble’ your next pound to maximize your digital footprint. BOSCO™, The Digital Marketing Prediction Index, has been developed to help eliminate risks when it comes to spending your marketing budget and ensures businesses are aligned around new growth opportunities.

BOSCO™ enables retailers to:

  • Index their online performance against competitors
  • Plan where to invest budgets for maximum efficiency
  • Predict where new sales opportunities lie
  • Profit with certainty from online media spend
  • Connect their actual data for bespoke dashboards

BOSCO™ has been developed by a team of leading eCommerce practitioners, global digital marketing specialists, and some of the most experienced data scientists in the world, to help retailers make more money from their digital marketing.

Our CEO & Founder, John Readman, explained why we decided to build BOSCO™ and the problems surrounding budget and media planning. John said, “I believe that there is too much data when it comes to digital marketing and it’s understanding which data is important to help you make better decisions, and ultimately make more money.”

It can often feel like a roulette wheel deciding where you should gamble your money to achieve the best returns, as well as deciding which metrics are the most important and how you compare to your competitors. 25% of marketing spend is wasted on digital tactics alone; BOSCO™ can help you spend your money more effectively and eliminate risks.

Digital marketing also becomes more difficult as online ad costs increase. It’s no secret that Google’s monopoly over the ad market means that fees are on the rise, and they always come out on top. As a Marketing Director, would you question whether your investment in Google is worth the money?

BOSCO™ ensures businesses are aligned around new growth opportunities, particularly in untapped channels such as Amazon, where 47% of product searches now start.

Our Principal Data Scientist, Dr. James McKeone explained the methodology behind BOSCO™ and the four key principles, clarifying how the data and machine learning works. James said, “The cutting edge of data science in 2020 is reinforcement learning and BOSCO™ is a prime case for this. You put a pound into one slot machine and lose and then try another ten and win five, this represents the different marketing channels. This sums up reinforcement learning, which is the process of trial and error to come up with a solution to the problem.”

In order to do this, BOSCO™ takes basic inputs; your domain, optimization target, budget, AOV, and category. We then collect data from trusted data partners, a list of competitors based on your category, and then the machine learning creates a portfolio of keywords which can then make budget recommendations.

Since the launch, we’ve already introduced a new feature on BOSCO™, which can help you calculate your maximum budget potential. This calculates what is the maximum you could spend within your target constraint and how much that spend will deliver. Giving you an accurate view on what is the market potential for your brand in this category.

If you would like to try BOSCO™ for free or for more information on how you can become a partner, get in touch with our team.

If your domain is in a niche industry or you’d simply like to explore more precise results from BOSCO™, the next major release will allow you to connect your paid and SEO data directly, send us an email to team@askbosco.io if you’d like to be involved.
